"Kairat" former honored footballers finished second in
the USSR championship for former honored footballers.
In the final match in Sochi, they lost 2:4 only to the
Krasnodar "Kuban".

"Merey"became the first kazakhstani club participated
in the women's championship of the USSR between superleague
teams.

In FRG,
the Alma-Ata "Merey" won the International Women Tournament.
They won 33 teams from Germany, Switzeland, Hungary and

Kazakh SSR Football Association transformed into the independent
Football Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

was accepted as the associated member into FIFA and Asian

The U-16
and U-19 teams of Kazakhstan debuted at the International
arena in play-off cycles of the VI Asia championship,
for youthful national teams (U-16), and the XXIX Asia
championship for youthful national teams (U-19). The play-off
matches as well as final parts of the Asia championship
are qualification stages of the world championships in
those categories by age.

The U-19
national team of Kazakhstan became the winner of the play-off
group in the XXIX Asia championship and went through to
the final part of the tournament.

The Pavlodar
"Ansat" and Zhambyl "Taraz", got started participating
in the XIV Asian Club Championship play-off and in the
V Asian Cup Winners Cup play-off. They became the first
kazakhstani teams participated in the official clubs tournaments
of AFC.

In Brisbane,
the national former honored footballers "Kairat" team
finished the third in the world championship for former
honored footballers. The team won 2:1 over former honored
footballers from Sidney, Australia.

The Olympic
National Football team of Kazakhstan debuted at the international
arena and won the play-off group at the first stage of
the asian part at the play-off cycle of the XXVI Olympic
Games "Atlanta-96".

Oleg Litvinenko,
the Semipalatinsk "Yelimai" and national team of Kazakhstan
forward, became the best striker at the first stage of
the asian part at the play-off cycle of the XXVI Olympic
Games "Atlanta-96". He scored 10 goals.

For the
above mentioned achievement, AFC recognized Oleg Litvinenko
as the best footballer of Asia in October, 1995.
