1971The great international success of the kazakhstani clubs football. The Alma-Ata "Kairat" is the first soviet team that won the Cup of the International Sports Union of the Railwaymen. To achieve the victory, "Kairat" won 4:1 over Koshitsa (Czech Republic) "Lokomotiv", at home, and 1:0, away. Then, the Alma-Ata "Kairat" lost 1:3 to Sophia (Bulgaria) "Slaviya", at home, but then they won 3:0, away, and went through to the final, where faced the Bucharest "Rapid". The first match in Bucharest was draw, 1:1. But at the second-leg match in Alma-Ata, at 32 thousand fans, "Kairat" won 1:0.

1971 Seilda Baishakov, the Alma-Ata "Kairat" defender, according to the "Smena" magazine opinion, is recognized as the best debutante in the USSR championship for super league teams.
1973
The youth national football team of Kazakhstan finished second in the All-Union tournament "Pereprava".
1975
The Temirtau Football club "Bulat" become the second kazakhstani team won the Cup of Millions. In the final match, "Bulat" won 1:0 over Ramensky "Saturn".

The Alma-Ata "Kairat", the first of the kazakhstani club, which became the winner in the USSR championship for first league teams.
1976
Aleksander Khapsalis, the Alma-Ata forward and Aksander Kaleikin, the Pavlodar defender, with the National team of the USSR, became the champions of Europe between juniors.
1977
Seilda Baishakov, the Alma-Ata "Kairat" defender, became the first kazakhstani footballer played with the National team of the USSR. His debut was in the match of the National team of the USSR against the National team of Hungary at the knock-out cycle of the World chapionship 1978.
1980
The Pavlodar "Tractor" became the winner in the seventh zone of the USSR championship for second league teams. They won the Samarkand "Dinamo" and Tolliatty "Torpedo" in the second group of the second league final tournament and got the right to represent Kazakhstan in the first league of the USSR championship.

The Alma-Ata "Kairat", for the second time , became the winners due to the results of the USSR championship and were awarded "For the Will to the Victory".
1981
The Alma-Ata "Kairat" became the winners of the winter International tournament held indoors for "Nedelya" newspaper award, in Moscow. The final match between the Alma-Ata "Kairat" and Moscow "Dinamo" was over as draw. The winner was defined by the results on penalties. The Alma-Ata "Kairat" won 5:4.

The Alma-Ata "Kairat" became, for the time, the winners of the USSR championship for first league teams.
1985
The kazakhstani children-and-youthful football is victorious at the All-Union arena. In Minsk, the Ust-kamenogorsk "Sputnik-2" became the winner in the senior age group of the tournament "Kozhany myach". At the same time, in Kazan, the Dzhambul "Zhalyn" became the winner in the middle age group tournament.
1986

Vakhid Masudov, the Alma-Ata "Kairat" midfielder is recognized, due to "Foootbolnoye Obozreniye" TV program opinion, as the best author of the goal in the XLIX USSR championship for super league teams, 1986. The goal was scored in the home match against Dnepropetrovsk "Dnepr".

The Alma-Ata "Kairat" took the seventh place in the USSR championship for super league teams and, thus, they made the greatest achievement of the kazakhstani clubs in the tournament.
1988
Eugeny Yarovenko, the Alma-Ata midfielder, with the Olympic National team of the USSR, won in the final part of the XXIV Olympic Games in Seoul and became the first kazakhstani footballer awarded as the Olympic Champion.
1988
The Alma-Ata "Kairat" won the USSR Football Federation Cup. In the final match, in Kishinev, the Alma-Ata "Kairat" won 4:1 over Baku "Neftchi".

1988
The first official participation of women's kazakhstani football club in the All-Union tournament. The "Pretendent" women's football club took part in the second All-Union tournament for the "Sobesednik" weekly newspaper award, in Kashira.
1989

The Formation of the Kazakh SSR Football Association.
1989

Evstaphy Pekhlevanidi, the Alma-Ata "Kairat" forward, became the first footballer signed the contract with the foreign club "Levadiakos", Greece.
